My Latest Read

I love reading as many of you know. I discovered, back a few years ago, the wonderful world of audiobooks. And that our library in Omaha carried tons of Young Adult fiction on audiobook. I was hooked and it allows me to multitask. About the only thing I cannot do while listening to an audiobook is sleep.

The other day, I found a book on Blair's online audiobook site. It is called Matched by Ally Condie. It is fabulous! I love this book so much I had to know more about the author. Just a little background on her: she is LDS and used to be an English teacher in Utah. Graduated from BYU. And she writes decent, clean, awesome, thought-provoking books. Many are calling her the next Stephanie Meyer.

Matched is about a girl who is growing up in a society that is very strict. The community she lives in makes decisions for everyone: who you will marry, what your job will be, even when you will die. The cool thing about this novel is that it makes you think about the things that you take for granted and look at them with a different perspective. I think anyone reading this book would enjoy it and the deeper thoughts that come with it. So check it out!
