I haven't had a chance to blog in a very... very... long time. I started back to school full-time at University of Nebraska at Omaha last week. I am taking 4 classes: Human Growth and Learning, Intro to Literature, Child Psychology, and Math Topics for Elementary Teachers, part 2. This has come with it's own set of challenges. We have been blessed to have Dave's dad able to watch Bree during the days when I need to be at class. Things have been a little bit crazy! Homework and readings are challenging to keep up with. Not to mention keeping up with all of the kids' activities. Between their homework, band practice, detentions (yes, I said detentions), and speech therapy, we sometimes don't get the kids in bed on time at 8 PM. Add in some cub scouts, taking care of extended family (which we really want to do and love being able to help), and our callings at church and we keep busy almost every day.
But as much as this sounds like complaining, it isn't. I love this kind of crazy. Other than feeling really old, I love being on campus again. The atmosphere is exciting and holds so much potential. I love learning about children and how they work. The amount of coursework makes me nervous, but my husband has been so supportive! I couldn't have a better husband. He understands when I just disappear into the bedroom with the doors locked. He just pops the lock on one door, comes in, sees what needs to be done, and locks the door on the way out. He has been so patient with me when I get stressed out or try to figure out to juggle everything I need to get done, both at home and school. I am one blessed woman!
Our days are slowly settling into a routine. We will have our crazy moments. I will have my days where I will need to stay up very late to get stuff done. I just try to work ahead and keep up with the readings. I'll try to update everyone on how things are going. But so far, so good! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
